Cousin Eddy
Here are some useful tips on beating the boss Cousin Eddy. When you first meet Cousin Eddy four ATVs will drive out of the back of his mobile home. It is no use trying to hurt Cousin Eddy while he is in his indestructible bubble/chain link fence thing that he puts up when he first appears. You have to beat all the ATVs before you can fight Cousin Eddy himself. All four ATVs will be facing you when the fight begins I found it very useful to turbo forward and hit all the ATVs with my car before I shot at them. Destroying them is quite easy so long as you try to never stay directly in front of them for extended periods of time. All the ATVs can shoot is shotguns, so being in front of them is a bad idea at close range, being in front of them in long range is fine though. Picking on one ATV at a time works best for getting rid of them. The ATVs are not very strong and do no ram damage, but pack a nasty punch when the get a full blast of their shotguns in on your car’s broadside. Weapons I recommend for beating the ATVs would be fire, and homing missiles, ramming is very useful if you can catch up to them. Weapons not recommend would be power missiles you’ll never hit them just save them for Cousin Eddy himself also any non-homing weapon. Make sure to pickup every power-up that the ATVs leave on the ground when they die. Once all ATVs are defeated and after you have collected the power-ups make sure to have your fire or power missiles equip.
Cousin Eddy was a relatively easy boss for me, my friends however struggled more with him than the last boss. After the mini-video, cousin eddy should take off in the opposite direction of you a chance to shoot the back of his mobile home. You will notice that certain parts of his mobile home are lit up with green these parts are where you need to hit they are located two on either side of him, then the back and the top. The sides are armed with the same shotguns as the ATVs, the back is armed with a stronger shotgun. The top hillbilly is gunning a Flamethrower which is very deadly, it shoots a straight beam of liquid fire which lights your car on fire and if you stay in the beam of flame it will do a lot of damage. Keeping your distance is key to this part of the facing Cousin Eddy. The goal is to hit the glowing parts of his mobile home with any of your weapons. When the glowing part is hit it will change colors from green to yellow then to red and then to dead. Once any part of him you have hit is dead you don’t have to hit it anymore or worry about it anymore. The sides are pretty easy to get rid of, they are at machine gun height and missile height. The back should be the first one you should get rid of because it will cause you a lot of trouble for you because you are most of the time behind him. The top is the hardest to hit, pretty much the only way to hit it is with napalm and hammer’s special if you have unlocked him yet. Occasionally when I have faced Eddy he seems to get in a pickle with you by driving back and forth so fast that you can not get a good shot in on his right side (only occasionally). This should be pretty easy to beat.
Once you have beaten all five hillbillies it will say final stage. Now it becomes like all twisted metal fights straight out, ramming, and fast shooting. Now it does not matter where you shoot him at, it will do the same amount of damage. His special is ramming so do not stay in front of him, because he does not have machine guns instead he has rockets they do about half as much as a fire missile but he shoots them very fast. Staying on his side is very key when he trys to turn and ram you, for a second he will be stopped right in front of your car, this is your opportunity to ram him and shoot your machine guns into him. Keeping your health above half is one of the key things to beating him because if he gets one of his special and just about two rockets he can take over half of your health down. So keep your health high. He is not a very hard boss.
Once you have beaten Cousin Eddy if it is your first time you will unlock the level (la-wood cousin eddy style), Cousin Eddy playable character and ATV playable character. i am going go do a cheat guide for twisted metal later today ill have to check to make sure they are accruate. i have unlocked most all of them. |
